About business jets

A business jet, also called a private jet or bizjet, is a jet aircraft built to carry small groups of people. The French Morane-Saulnier MS.760 Paris (1954) was the first small jet for civil use; the Lockheed JetStar (1957) and the Learjet 23 (1963) made the business jet popular.

Today there are very light and light jets for four to eight passengers, mid-size and super mid-size jets that cross a continent, long-range jets that fly between continents, and airliners with a private cabin. Many are flown by fractional-ownership and charter companies such as NetJets.
